DESCRIPTION:Experience the sound of Memphis all summer long at the iconic Stax Museum of American Soul Music. \n\n\n\nJoin us every Tuesday in July for the Live in Studio A Summer Series\, featuring a rotating lineup of talented Memphis musicians. From soul and R&B to contemporary sounds\, each week offers a unique opportunity to discover the artists carrying Memphis music forward. \n\n\n\nAdmission is FREE for Shelby County residents as part of our weekly community admission program. Simply bring a valid ID and enjoy an afternoon of live music in one of Memphis’ most historic musical spaces. \n\n\n\nArtist Lineup\n\n\n\nJuly 7 | Jerome Chism\n\n\n\nA dynamic vocalist with deep roots in Memphis soul\, Jerome Chism is known for his powerful voice and energetic performances. He has shared stages with artists throughout Memphis and beyond\, including touring internationally with the legendary Hi Rhythm Section in 2025. \n\n\n\nJuly 14 | David Alxander\n\n\n\nDavid Alxander was born and raised in Memphis\, TN. He is a Musician\, Songwriter\, Engineer and also an Artist. David graduated from the Soulsville Charter School and also attended the Stax Music Academy. Growing up\, he had a drive to one day become a household name. He has played for artists such as Jessica Ray\, Al Kapone\, Gym Class Heroes\, and He is currently the drummer for Tai Verdes and Louis York. David just released his debut album “110” on March 21\, 2026. \n\n\n\nJuly 21 | McKenneith Cherry\n\n\n\nKnown as the “Grown Folks Party Starter\,” McKenneith Cherry is a Southern Soul musician making waves across Memphis. A recent Stax Music Academy alumnus\, he has become a familiar face on local stages\, captivating audiences with his charisma and soulful sound. \n\n\n\nJuly 28 | D’Monet\n\n\n\nDrawing inspiration from legendary artists such as Anita Baker\, Luther Vandross\, and Stevie Wonder\, D’Monet blends soul\, R&B\, gospel\, and jazz influences into what she calls “Alkaline Music”—music designed to heal\, uplift\, and connect.
