The Retail Store Shift Lead is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of
the store during their shift. This includes supervising staff, ensuring customer satisfaction,
managing inventory, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The Shift Lead

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Supervision:
    ○ Lead and motivate a team of sales associates to meet and exceed sales targets.
    ○ Delegate tasks and ensure they are completed efficiently.
    ○ Support Retail Store Manager with training and to new employees.
    ○ Conduct briefings at the beginning of each shift to communicate store goals and
    updates.
  2. Customer Service:
    ○ Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through excellent service.
    ○ Address and resolve customer complaints and issues promptly.
    ○ Assist customers with product selection and queries.
  3. Sales and Merchandising:
    ○ Monitor and analyze sales performance to identify opportunities for improvement.
    ○ Ensure merchandise is well-stocked, organized, and presented according to
    company standards.
    ○ Implement promotional activities and in-store events as directed.
  4. Operations:
    ○ Open and close the store as needed, following all security procedures.
    ○ Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.
    ○ Maintain a clean, safe, and inviting store environment.
  5. Inventory Management:
    ○ Report stock levels and Gift Shop supplies to the Retail Store Manager..
    ○ Conduct regular inventory checks and assist with stocktaking activities.

○ Manage product returns and exchanges according to company policy.

  1. Reporting:
    ○ Prepare and submit shift reports detailing sales performance, customer
    feedback, and operational issues.
    ○ Communicate any significant issues to the Retail Store Manager.

Qualifications:
● High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
● Previous retail experience, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
● Strong leadership and team management skills.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to handle stressful situations and resolve conflicts effectively.
● Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
● Proficiency with point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer skills.
● Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Physical Requirements:
● Ability to stand for extended periods.
● Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
● Frequent bending, reaching, and moving about the store.
