Conversation and book signing with Eddie Floyd and Jared Boyd, Memphis author and DJ
Arriving at Stax Records in the mid-1960s, Eddie Floyd soon established himself as one of the label’s soul superstars performing hits like “Knock on Wood,” “Raise Your Hand,” and “Big Bird,” and becoming an exceptional songwriter and collaborator. Floyd stayed with the company until its fall in 1975, and continues to make exceptional soul music well into his 80s. Floyd published his autobiography, Knock! Knock! Knock! On Wood: My Life in Soul, in 2020, but was unable to celebrate it with a Memphis audience until now due to the COVID pandemic. Join WYXR Radio’s Jared Boyd for this one-on-one conversation with the Memphis music legend, whose songs have been covered by the likes of Bruce Springsteen, David Bowie, Cher, and Ike & Tina Turner.
