Experience the sound of Memphis all summer long at the iconic Stax Museum of American Soul Music.

Join us every Tuesday in July for the Live in Studio A Summer Series, featuring a rotating lineup of talented Memphis musicians. From soul and R&B to contemporary sounds, each week offers a unique opportunity to discover the artists carrying Memphis music forward.

Admission is FREE for Shelby County residents as part of our weekly community admission program. Simply bring a valid ID and enjoy an afternoon of live music in one of Memphis' most historic musical spaces.

Artist Lineup

July 7 | Jerome Chism

A dynamic vocalist with deep roots in Memphis soul, Jerome Chism is known for his powerful voice and energetic performances. He has shared stages with artists throughout Memphis and beyond, including touring internationally with the legendary Hi Rhythm Section in 2025.

July 14 | David Alexander

Memphis drummer David Alex Pruitt is part of the city's rich lineage of world-class percussionists. A former Stax Music Academy student, his career has taken him from local stages to performances at Madison Square Garden, Lollapalooza, and Jingle Ball.

July 21 | McKenneith Cherry

Known as the "Grown Folks Party Starter," McKenneith Cherry is a Southern Soul musician making waves across Memphis. A recent Stax Music Academy alumnus, he has become a familiar face on local stages, captivating audiences with his charisma and soulful sound.

July 28 | D'Monet

Drawing inspiration from legendary artists such as Anita Baker, Luther Vandross, and Stevie Wonder, D'Monet blends soul, R&B, gospel, and jazz influences into what she calls "Alkaline Music"—music designed to heal, uplift, and connect. Her heartfelt performances create space for audiences to reflect, celebrate, and be fully present in the moment.
