Join Stax Music Academy on Wednesday, March 27th, for a Jazz workshop with GRAMMY Award-winning musician and former CEO of the Soulsville Foundation, Kirk Whalum!

Whalum, a legend in his own right, has been more than just a friend to Stax Music Academy – he is also the former Artist in Residence and CEO of Soulsville Foundation. Throughout his GRAMMY-winning career, Whalum served as the go-to saxophonist for artists like Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, and Quincy Jones.

Beyond his musical achievements, Whalum's career has been a testament to his commitment to community service. He actively shares his passion for music with future generations as a music professor. An ordained minister, Whalum shares his daily Bible readings through his podcast "Bible In Your Ear." He is passionate about inspiring young musicians, and currently teaches at Visible Music College in Memphis.

We are thrilled to welcome Whalum back "home" to Stax Music Academy, and we look forward to seeing you all on the 27th.
